  5. REQUIREMENTS

  7. Apple Macintosh User's
  8.  
  9. Apple Macintosh IIci (68030) or higher
  10. System 6.08 or higher
  11. At least 6 megabytes of free RAM
  12. 8 bit (256 color) or higher color display
  13. 1x or faster CD-ROM Drive
  14.  
  15. Microsoft Windows Users
  16.  
  17. Intel 486 or higher CPU with 5 megabytes of RAM or more
  18. Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher
  19. 8 bit (256 color) or higher color display
  20. 8 or 16 bit sound card
  21. 1x or faster CD-ROM Drive
  22.  
  23. INSTALLATION
  24.  
  25. Apple Macintosh Users
  26.  
  27. To Install QuickTime 2.1:
  28. 1. Locate the System Folder on your hard disk. Open the System
  29.      Folder by double clicking on its icon.
  30. 2. Locate the Extensions folder inside your System Folder. Open
  31.      the Extensions folder by double clicking on its icon.
  32. 3. If there is a copy of the QuickTime extension in the Extensions folder,
  33.      drag it to the Trash. Note: do not empty the trash until you
  34.      restart your Macintosh.
  35. 4. If there is a copy of the Apple Multimedia Tuner extension
  36.      in the Extensions folder, drag it to the Trash.
  37. 5. Close the Extensions folder. Close the System Folder.
  38. 6. Drag the QuickTime, QuickTime PowerPlug,  QuickTime
  39.      Musical Instruments, Sound Manager, and Sound icons to
  40.      your hard disk’s System Folder icon
  41.      (not into the open folder).
  42. 7.    Click OK in the dialog box that appears.
  43. 8.    Restart your Macintosh. This installs QuickTime 2.1 onto your system.

  45. MICROSOFT WINDOWS 3.1 USERS:
  46.  
  47. To Install QuickTime 2.03:
  48. 1. Run the file "QTINSTAL.EXE" located on this CD-ROM.
  49. 2. Quit and restart Windows. This installs QuickTime 2.03 onto your system.

  51. WINDOWS 95 USERS:
  52.  
  53. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.  Windows 95 AutoPlay will
  54. automatically run "The Definitive History of Florida Football."
  55.  
  56. RUNNING THE PROGRAM
  57.  
  58. Apple Macintosh Users:
  59. Double-click the application titled "Gator Football" on the CD-ROM.
  60.  
  61. Microsoft Windows Users:
  62. Run the application titled "HISTORY.EXE" on the CD-ROM.
  63.  
  64. FOR BEST PERFORMANCE
  65.  
  66. Screen savers, virus software, Virtual Memory, network, and
  67. various background processes can slow down the performance of
  68. this CD. Turn them off.
  69.  
  70. TECHNICAL NOTES
  71.  
  72. All audio files are 8 bit 11 kHz to accomodate a wide range of 
  73. platforms.
  74.  
  75. All movie files are 16 bit color. The movies will play on an 
  76. 8 bit color machine.
  77.  
  78. All pictures are 8 bit color to save CD space and load time.
  79.  
  80. A faster CD-ROM drive will improve performance.
  81.  
  82. Window's users may want to read the file "WINREAD.TXT" if 
  83. having problems with graphics or sound.
  84.  
  85. Window's users running in 8 bit color mode and experiencing
  86. color palette problems should make sure the video card is
  87. not using a fixed palette.
  88.  
  89. Window's users should run in 640x480 mode so that text
  90. is more legible.
  91.  
  92. Macintosh users may need to free up more system memory if
  93. images do not appear or if video movies only play audio. 
  94. This indicates that QuickTime is starving for memory. 
  95. Try disabling some extensions and turning off AppleTalk (Chooser).
  96. Virtual memory is not a prefered solution. Also, try switching the
  97. montior settings to 8 bit (256 colors) if sound and/or video does
  98. not play.
  99.  
  100. Macintosh users must be running their machine in 32 bit memory 
  101. mode. QuickTime 2.1 or higher is required for this CD.
  102.  
  103. Windows users: this CD has been tested with Windows 3.1, 
  104. Windows for Workgroups 3.11, and WIndows 95.
  105. Windows NT 3.1 will not work.
  106.  
  107. This program only runs off of CD.
